Colin Reed enjoyed a childhood in some out-of the-way parts of Africa, where his parents served God in education and medicine. He then expanded his horizons with higher education in England where he met his wife, Wendy, and they worked in education in Kenya. Colin trained for ordination in England, and after a curacy, it was back to Africa. They emigrated to Australia in 1980, and after a time in a parish, spent fifteen years on the staff of the Church Missionary Society. They then accepted a call from God, through the Archbishop of Tanzania, to serve there, which they did with great joy. Colin wrote both Masters and Doctoral theses on the history of the Church in East Africa. His book on the East African Revival and Australia arose from his study and his personal experience.
